About the Port of Vancouver (Cruise Port Information)
Vancouver's cruise ship terminals, Canada Place and Ballantyne, offer all the modern conveniences and services for a positive and safe cruise experience. In 2002, the port hosted 342 sailing's carrying more than one million revenue passengers.
Canada Place is located in the city centre, at 999 Canada Place. Ballantyne is located at 655 Centennial Road, east of the city centre and close to Canada Place.
The Vancouver Port (VPA) Authority developed a new third cruise berth at Canada Place for the 2002 cruise season and beyond. The VPA provided the $89 million (Canadian funds) in funding required for the project with support from the cruise industry. Construction began in February, 2000 and was completed one season ahead of schedule.
Canada Place was extended, creating a new cruise berth and additional space for passengers. Passenger and baggage loading and unloading were expanded from 133,000 sq. ft. to 189,000 sq. ft., with an enlarged passenger-level area, as well as enhanced truck, bus and taxi access from 63,000 to 100,000 sq. ft. Canada Place is now home to three berths: one at 1,600 feet, a second at 1,070 feet and a third at 900 feet.
On-Site Parking Facilities Canada Place has an on-site two level parkade housing 770 stalls operated by Citipark.
Off Site Parking Facilities Off-site/valet parking is available for both Canada Place and Ballantyne terminals operated by Cruisepark. Complimentary shuttle is provided to and from Canada Place and Ballantyne terminals from Cruisepark's lot. All Cruisepark customers please go directly to Cruisepark's lot.
Transportation Services Vancouver's International Airport, YVR, services more than 20 major international and regional air carriers. The city centre is around 25 minutes from the airport. Taxis and limousines are readily available. There is also a regular bus service by Airporter bus company.
Regular bus service from Vancouver's city centre to Seattle's SeaTac airport is available via shuttle buses. It takes 3 hours to drive from Seattle to Vancouver, and both cities offer a wide variety of car rental companies.
Please note that airlines no longer provide check-in services at the cruise terminals.
